Too Quiet in Rugby Union This Week

If you watched more than a few rugby union matches before 2002 with the sound turned on, you probably heard Bill McLaren and won’t forget him. The legendary Scottish commentator, who retired in 2002 after a 49-year broadcast career, died yesterday at age 86.

Instead of trying to capture McLaren’s contribution to the sport, we’ll just let him speak for himself here:
